IDM is a unique download manager which split the downloading file in 8-9 parts and download them simultaneously and after finishing the download IDM again merge those files into 1 file.So as the file is being download in several parts so you get the maximum downloading speed.So the download speed of IDM depends on number of connections.Normally there are 8-9 connections in normal IDM versions but using IDM Optimizer you can increase the number of connections to 16.
Process to Increase your Downoad speed & connections:
1.Install the latest version of IDM.
2.Download IDM Optimizer.
3.Extract the rar files.(Password-softwarefreakzz.blogspot.com)

4.Exit IDM from system tray.
5.Run IDM Optimizer application.
6.Click on Maximize Now button and then Ok.
